Reflections of Creation

One of the greatest things that God has given humans is the ability to see beauty in the world around us. I have never noticed my dog stop and stare at the beauty of a forest or the incredible colors of a sunset, but these things have the ability to stop me in my tracks in wonder and awe. This website is my attempt to capture some of the beauty and glory of an indescribable God by capturing reflections of Him that I see in His creation.

Nativity 1 Thursday, December 06, 2012 | 0

I have a camera that I don't like the quality of pictures that comes from it. But, it has an amazing grainy b&w filter setting in it. So, I'll probably post a few pictures over the coming days of our nativity set taken with that grainy b&w filter effect I love so much.

Changes (getting philosophical in a sentence) Sunday, October 14, 2012 | 0

Some changes, like this leaf, are obvious and easy to see while other changes are more subtle and not where you are focused at the time.

a rainy afternoon-just not where I'm standing Friday, May 18, 2012 | 0

While on vacation, I was having some problems with my camera. Even so, I do like this one enough to post it because I like the clouds.

“If I were you, I would go to God
and present my case to Him.
He does great things too marvelous to understand.
   He performs countless miracles.
He gives rain for the earth
   and water for the fields.
He gives prosperity to the poor
   and protects those who suffer.
He frustrates the plans of schemers
so the work of their hands will not succeed.
He traps the wise in their own cleverness
so their cunning schemes are thwarted.
They find it is dark in the daytime,
and they grope at noon as if it were night.
He rescues the poor from the cutting words of the strong,
and rescues them from the clutches of the powerful.
And so at last the poor have hope
and the snapping jaws of the wicked are shut."

road trip to abbott, nm Saturday, May 12, 2012 | 0

For part of vacation, Alison and I added about an hour onto our trip to go by the area my great great grandparents farmed. This picture was from our detour, and ended up being an amazing part of the trip.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

back from vacation Monday, April 30, 2012 | 2

Alison and I made it back from vacation a couple of days ago. We had a great time and really enjoyed some time off. Unfortunately, I did not take many pictures, but I did take some when we drove up Pikes Peak. So, here's one of them. It was a beautiful day.

I'm sorry that I've been away all week. We have not had internet service at the house due to a dead modem. But, we're back and in business again.

(10 minute, 3 second long exposure)

Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens!
Praise Him from the skies!
Praise Him, all His angels!
Praise Him, all the armies of heaven!
Praise Him, sun and moon!
Praise Him, all you twinkling stars!
Praise Him, skies above!
Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds!
Let every created thing give praise to the Lord,
for He issued His command, and they came into being.
He set them in place forever and ever.
His decree will never be revoked.

and by "popular demand"... Friday, March 16, 2012 | 0

Sarcasm doesn't come across well in text. It can't really be popular demand when no one has asked for it. But, you get a bee/flowered tree picture anyway.

spring, bees & trees Wednesday, March 14, 2012 | 1

I guess spring is here. My sister went out and took some great pictures of trees where she lives in Texas, and I have been taking pictures of a great flowered-out tree in a courtyard at the church. Today, I went out for the second time to get more shots and I stopped right outside the door when I stepped out. There was a loud buzzing that I was trying to figure out where it came from. I found it; here is one of the hundreds of culprits. I went out there with the camera 3 times, and took something like 130 pictures. This is probably not the best from today, but it's probably in the top ten or fifteen. It was pretty amazing.

Reflections of Creation

the most important part of this website

I enjoy photography and I always find myself wanting more time to be outside with a camera. The idea of posting my pictures was born out of the love for my wife, Alison (alisonbryantwrites.com), who hates it when I do not take my days off. This website, reflections of creation, is a way to force me to get out of the office from time to time and putting me outside where I love to be. While a creative outlet for me, I hope this is an encouraging site for you, and one which helps point you to the Creator of all this beauty around us. God is so much bigger and amazing than we could ever imagine, and He loves you and me! What an amazing thought! He loves us so much that He was even willing to let His son, Jesus, die as a sacrifice for us. That fact is more beautiful than any picture you will see on this website. I hope you know Jesus, but if you do not, please email me or go to www.needHim.org. Thanks again for coming and stop by again soon.
