One of the greatest things that God has given humans is the ability to see beauty in the world around us. I have never noticed my dog stop and stare at the beauty of a forest or the incredible colors of a sunset, but these things have the ability to stop me in my tracks in wonder and awe. This website is my attempt to capture some of the beauty and glory of an indescribable God by capturing reflections of Him that I see in His creation.
I love that it's obviously nighttime, but the trees themselves look like they're in daylight.
It's kind of an eerie picture -- like it's not real.
I took this one back in mid July when I did that week of nighttime shots. This was taken at the park by the river, and you can see some a little more of those eerie clouds in this picture I posted back then.
I also meant to say that this was a 30 second exposure and there are lights kinda close to these trees which is why they look lit up so well.
One thing I love about nighttime photography is that even though we cannot see the colors with our eyes at night, they are still there. With a long enough exposure, you can get those colors to come out and suddenly the nighttime looks a little more like daytime in the picture. That's one of the reasons that nighttime photography is probably my favorite type of photography.
Jacque - I had the same feeling as you of eeriness. It's such an unusual picture. Dave - Thanks for the explanation of how the color of the trees came out so beautifully.
Wow, Dave, very interesting facts about nighttime photography.
