I know I've mentioned this before, but going through Tracy Arm Fjord on our cruise was one of the best parts of the cruise. Ali and I loved being able to see incredible scenery, and what amazed me was the diverse colors found all throughout the fjord, not on the trees but on the rocks themselves. Here's an example; look at the black streaks on this mountainside. I don't know how far we traveled with these black streaks, but I bet it was several miles.
Here is also a quick rehashing from other pictures in the fjord that I've already posted:
Incredible colored shoreline
Snowy barren mountaintops
South Sawyer Glacier
South Sawyer closeup
A view of ice from around a little island
Looking over the island
Lots of snow
Some more black streaks
streaking rocks and a compilation

Wow! It's amazing seeing all those photos at one time...it's so beautiful and you have REALLY captured that beauty in your photos. I NEED to go to Alaska! smiles...
Yes, you do need to go, Christi! ...and if you're in need of someone to go with you, then (sigh) I guess I could bite the bullet and do that. =)
I love the contrasts in this photo. It gives a good sense of the amazing scenes we saw. I want to go back!
LOL...the sacrifices that you make for family...I'm impressed, Alison. ;o)
Actually Ben picked up a Mileposts book for Alaska last night at B&N. He and his dad made a driving tour right before he went into the air force and he is dying to go back. smiles...
