Reflections of Creation

One of the greatest things that God has given humans is the ability to see beauty in the world around us. I have never noticed my dog stop and stare at the beauty of a forest or the incredible colors of a sunset, but these things have the ability to stop me in my tracks in wonder and awe. This website is my attempt to capture some of the beauty and glory of an indescribable God by capturing reflections of Him that I see in His creation.

I'm sorry that I haven't been around much lately. I had a huge youth event two weeks ago, and I'm just finally getting recovered from that. That's not really why I haven't been around though: I just don't have any pictures right now that I like. I have desperately needed to go out and take pictures and I haven't done it. I'm kind of upset with myself too, because I love fall. Fall is my favorite time of the year, and I could not wait to go out and take pictures this fall for three reasons:

1) This is my first year with a good digital camera.
2) This is my first year to have a motorcycle which I planned on riding around with some camera gear and get a bunch of pictures.
2) I thought it would be a great way to unwind after the craziness of two weekends ago.

Well, I never went out, and now it is really too late for the great color around here. We had high winds which took out a bunch of our leaves this week. I actually saw piles of leaves in a couple of yards today, so I am too late to really get what I wanted this year. Maybe next year.

So, here's what I need: to get out and take some more pictures. This blog was intended to be nature photography, since that's what I love to do. Now that I have a digital camera and don't have to pay for developing, I tend to take a lot more pictures about, well, anything. So, I have gotten away from nature photography. And since I don't have many pictures I want to put up, you get more World War II planes (insert my nephew's cheering here). I'll have another picture of this plane up for Monday's picture as well.

How about posting a picture of the motorcycle? Don't think we've seen that on here yet!

No, I don't think I'll put up a picture of the motorcycle. I really do want to get back to straight nature photography, at least once I go out and take more pictures. I still have tons of Alaska pictures, but I've gotten bored with them and plus, I can't remember what I've posted and what I haven't.

My back yard looks like a forrest (lawnmower gave up before I did) so I think you should plan a trip to Midland!

the nature of Dan's backyard...that could be really frightening!

I personally love the variety that you have on your blog. I took Ben through about 3 months of it last night and he was in awe of your skills! I have got to get Jacob on here for the planes though! smiles...

the most important part of this website

I enjoy photography and I always find myself wanting more time to be outside with a camera. The idea of posting my pictures was born out of the love for my wife, Alison (alisonbryantwrites.com), who hates it when I do not take my days off. This website, reflections of creation, is a way to force me to get out of the office from time to time and putting me outside where I love to be. While a creative outlet for me, I hope this is an encouraging site for you, and one which helps point you to the Creator of all this beauty around us. God is so much bigger and amazing than we could ever imagine, and He loves you and me! What an amazing thought! He loves us so much that He was even willing to let His son, Jesus, die as a sacrifice for us. That fact is more beautiful than any picture you will see on this website. I hope you know Jesus, but if you do not, please email me or go to www.needHim.org. Thanks again for coming and stop by again soon.
